This newborn baby session blog post is well overdue! Baby Paxton was born in February and I am only now getting to blog about it. Yes, I am embarrassed. Hopefully now that my brand new site is finished and the girls are back in school, I can catch up on all the recent sessions that need to be shown to the world here on my blog.
My newborn sessions are usually a mix between posed photography and lifestyle photography around my clients’ homes where I conduct newborn sessions. I spend some time photographing a baby by himself/herself capturing all the sweet details. I also put great emphasis on photographing mom and dad holding and interacting with the baby and, if there is a big sister or brother, sibling interactions.
Every now and then parents, especially moms, are hesitant to be photographed with their new baby. Maybe she is self-conscious regarding her postpartum weight or she simply does not feel up to it. I always discuss this with my clients and definitely encourage (never push) to be a part of the session. After all, it is my job to make sure I photograph a new mom from angles that flatter her face and body and perhaps “hide” those few extra pounds. So far, not one parent had regretted being photographed with their newborn baby.
Below is baby Paxton, who was such an angel during his photo session, and his family. Please check the maternity / family session I had with this family in the fall.
