Lisa’s Family ~ Asheville Portrait Photographer

If you follow my work, you might remember me asking just before the winter holidays for nominations of a deserving family or an individual to receive a complimentary photo session with LHP. I received so many worthy entries and the decision was difficult.  Ultimately, I rewarded the session to Lisa and her two girls. A few weeks ago we got together for their session in downtown Asheville, which is a favorite spot of Ashley’s (one of Lisa’s daughters). I am so thankful I got to meet Lisa, Ashley and Megan and truly hope to see more of them.

Here is the nomination as submitted:

I wanted to nominate a co-worker for your photo contest.  Her name is Lisa S.  Lisa is the most positive person you could ever meet.  She has 2 daughters in their 20’s whom she loves dearly.  One daughter is severely disabled with Cerebral Palsy, wheel chair bound, non- verbal. The other has a learning disability.  Lisa has been a single parent for a very long time (we know the stresses of raising healthy children in a marriage, just think about 2 children with special needs). A few years ago Lisa was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  It was mostly removed, but she still has costly  MRI’s and visits to Duke every 3 months.  Despite all this Lisa still plays piano for her church at times & works full time. She is a very up-beat person. I believe that you could take photos of her & her girls that would show their beauty & be a keepsake  for her.
